Description

Creamy, spicy, slightly sweet. This recipe combines the tang and spice of hot honey chicken with the smooth decadent creaminess of a parmesan roux-based sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of spaghetti or pasta of choice
  • 5 cloves garlic

For chicken:

  • 10 chicken tenders (chicken’s the star so I leave them whole)
  • 1 TB Nashville hot chicken seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1TB chicken maggie
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce (I used Franks)
  • 1/4 cup honey

For parmesan dill sauce:

  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 TB flour
  • 2TB butter
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan
  • 4 sprigs fresh dill
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with Nashville hot chicken seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, & chicken maggie.
  2. Drizzle oil in pan and heat to medium-high. Add chopped garlic and chicken and brown on all sides. (About 3 mins per side) then cover, lower heat a bit, and cook for another 5 mins. Remove from pan and store for later.
  3. In same pan, add butter until melted, then flour, stirring continuously until slightly toasted (about 1-2 mins)
  4. Add one cup of milk, stirring continuously until smooth and starting to thicken. Add remaining milk repeating stirring process.
  5. Take your milk/flour off the heat altogether and stir in Parmesan 1/4 cup at a time until you have a smooth cheesy sauce. Add chopped dill, and some garlic and onion powder.
  6. Melt hot sauce and honey together in a separate pan and add some garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Can add fresh garlic here too.
  7. Once fully incorporated toss your chicken in the sauce.
  8. Make pasta according to package instructions (don’t forget to salt the water)
  9. Add pasta to pan with creamy dill sauce and toss until thoroughly coated. Pour all the chicken and sauce in too and mix together.
  10. Top with more dill, Parmesan, Nashville hot seasoning, and a drizzle of honey.

Notes

For gluten free:

You can make the sauce with just heavy whipping cream and parmesan if you don’t like a roux based sauce or want to make gluten free. Use 1 cup of heavy whipping cream and 1/2 cup parmesan.
